when i click on "start device" on board add text:
    ...
    RTL8139: Hooking into device, dev:0, bus:0, irq:9, I/O addr:8000
    RTL8139: Probing
RTL8139: Chip version: Unknown RTL8139 clone
    RTL8139: probing done!
    RTL8139: Reset
    RTL8139: Resetting chip
    RTL8139: Reset timeout!
RTL8139: Error, removing all data !
    ...
  • Must be that I don't have this particular revision of RTL8139 chip, I found a typo in chip versions list which might cause wrong reset procedure to be used for this chip.
    Try this.

  • I'm starting to wonder if this device wants to talk to us at all, maybe it is somehow disabled on the PCI level.
Lets see if we can read the MAC.

  • In case the MAC reads ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff, you could try this.

  • *The second driver works wonderfully!
  • Aha, success!
It seems the PIO access bit was disabled by default in PCI command register and therefore no access to the device was allowed. Fixed in #6710
Pathoswithin: Perhaps the same problem exists for some other devices on the PCI bus?
