compaq lte 5300

So I booted into kolibri on my lte 5300 since it has no hdd but, the wiki says vesa 1.2 is disabled. How do I enable this?
Also can any one here point me to a PCMCIA modem that is supported by kolibri so I can connect this laptop to the internet?
