I don't really have a question, suggestion, or need support. I know very little Russian, so I hope it is okay that I post this here.

I really like Kolibri OS. I can't really give any suggestions, as anything I would suggest seems like something I should dig in and add myself. I like Linux, Dos, and older versions of Windows (3.x/95). But Kolibri is something great.

With Linux I use hand made Linux live media (Linux Live Kit). In fact I don't use a standard hard drive install of Linux anywhere. A live image is loaded into ram, or mounted from a solid state media of some kind. However, these days I use Linux as a must. Not because its nice. For me it is better than Windows. Much of the tech world is now herded along by version and library updates. So my poison is Linux. Not that I'm complaining. It seems that, for my needs, I am always trying to turn Linux into something towards what Kolibri is. But obviously the gap of design between the two systems is Huge. Linux is a necessity, while Kolibri is more the desired environment.

I really should be more technical, since without that I am being really vague. I use many computers for different things. Only ones with Win95 have a standard install. So Kolibri deploys the same way I deploy just about everything else I use. Kolibri's core is so small that I can even deploy it on older machines. With Linux it is better if I mount the compressed core (rather than live ram disk) from the media; especially with older machines. That does not sum up all the thing I like about Kolibri over Linux. But it does show that Kolibri is designed to be used the way I alter Linux to be used.

I have some scattered programming experience. When I consider expanding that experience, I lose steam whenever I think about Linux. When I think about ASM, I could really do that "enjoyably" on Kolibri or Dos. I have only one machine that can run Dos and not Kolibri. And Kolibri offers a pretty impressive environment compared to Dos. I've often thought about writing something like Dosemu for Kolibri. Dosbox is nice, but very lacking for a needy Dos user. If you ever wanted to use a parallel/serial port, Dosbox is out of the question. And if you wanted to run several instances of Dos, Dosbox is more resource hungry. However, I have not looked into Kolibri and vm86 yet. But then I also question if I should instead just try to write or port whatever Dos application over to the Kolibri CLI.

I think about all of the work that goes into something like Kolibri, and that lack of gratitude offered. I get that many computer users have no idea how hard it is to bring modern web browsing to Kolibri, without destroying the point of Kolibri. And I'm not entirely sure it should be in Kolibri. But with people's lack of technical insight aside, Kolibri is actually pretty amazing. The support to users, that I have seen, also is pretty amazing. So for what its worth, excellent work guys. These are strange days, so it is hard to tell what things will look like even a hand full of months from now. So I can't, as of yet, hope to promise that I can contribute much. But I wanted to at least thank you for realizing and manifesting one of my dreams. Thanks for all you have done and are doing.
