There seems to be a russian cpu called elbrus 4c. It is capable off emulating x86. Could not find much information on it, but this would be a nice hardware for kolibri os!

Maybe someone from russia can give us some insider information on it. Selling only to companies?

1) Elbrus-4c is a very expensive 64-bit superscalar RISC CPU.
2) It is exclusively aimed for military applications.
3) There's no information on architecture, opcodes and compilers available in the open-source domain.

Is the linux for this cpu closed source? In some information texts I found that it should support linux and windows xp via the emulation. I think it is a good idea to built a no intel and usa hardware, but it should be spread more.

Elbrus can transcode x86 instructions to its own opcodes.
This (theoretically) lets it run Windows or x86 Linux software.
But the price is obviously high (as for any other emulator) - slow speed and waste of resources.
