With this topic I like to share my method to create a link on the desktop to a folder.
(a link is also named shortcut or alias). This may be obvious for some of you, but maybe not . . .
1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop to bring up the "Add Icon" window
- In Name, enter the name you want to give to the link (e.g. MyFolder)
- In Path, enter the full path of Eolite: "/sys/File managers/Eolite"
- In Parameters, enter the full path of the destination folder
- Click on the icon that looks like an open folder (or any other appropriate icon)
- Click the Create button
2. Test the link: a click on the created icon should open Eolite showing the contents of the destination folder.
3. Right-click anywhere on the desktop to Unfix, position, Snap to Grid, and Fix the Icon.
4. Run RDSAVE to save the link
An application can resolve the link by looking for the "name=xxxxxx" textline in the "/rd/1/Settings/Icon.ini" text file.
The "param=" textline that follows contains the fullpath of the destination file.
